Class starts Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 3:00 PM Monday, August 11-Friday, August 15, 2025
This series equips participants with essential teaching skills, emphasizing learner-centered methods and real-world application to create effective learning environments.
Beginning with Teaching Techniques One, participants explore adult education principles, advancing to team-based teaching, project presentations, and labor history in Teaching Techniques Five.
The courses emphasize hands-on learning, team projects, and peer feedback to refine teaching skills and prepare participants to lead dynamic, engaging instruction.
Aperçu
Instructor Enhancement Classes
Teaching Techniques One introduces the basics of effective learning, focusing on creating a learner-centered environment for adult learners. Techniques Two through Four builds on these foundations, offering hands-on experience with team-based assignments, research and presentations while refining presentation and teaching skills. Participants engage in collaborative projects, self-evaluation, and feedback, culminating in a comprehensive teaching project. Teaching Techniques Five focuses on labor history and unionization, providing participants with strategies for organizing workers and understanding the challenges faced by unions throughout U.S. history.
Computer Class
We offer an optional 3-1/2-day computer class starts Thursday, August 7, 2025, starts at 6:00 PM—Sunday, August 10, 2025. This class will cater to the individual needs of our students, empowering them to enhance their Microsoft Office skills at their own pace and convenience.

Voyage et hébergement
- The IIIATF will pay the tuition, room and board at the Maritime Institute and travel.
- No transportation costs to and from BWI airport or rental cars will be covered since the Maritime Institute offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.
- MAC Scholarship students will be paid for wages.
Les frais d'hébergement et les taxes seront facturés directement à l'IIIATF. Tous les autres frais d'hébergement sont à la charge des participants. Après la formation, un bon de transport sera envoyé par courriel à chaque participant à l'adresse courriel utilisée lors de l'inscription. Conformément à la politique de voyage de l'IIIATF, le remboursement des frais de déplacement sera effectué soit à la section locale, soit au JATC.
