Le groupe a \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 qu&#039;il offrirait des cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s \u00e0 certains salari\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>C&#039;est la premi\u00e8re fois que McDonald&#039;s met en place une politique nationale sur les salaires, selon l&#039;entreprise, et elle intervient apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 la cible principale des manifestations en cours pour r\u00e9clamer les salaires des employ\u00e9s de $15 et d&#039;un syndicat. D&#039;autres entreprises, dont Wal-Mart Stores Inc., ont \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 des augmentations de salaires dans un contexte \u00e9conomique en am\u00e9lioration et \u00e0 un moment o\u00f9 les probl\u00e8mes des travailleurs font l&#039;objet d&#039;une attention accrue.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s l&#039;annonce de McDonald&#039;s, les organisateurs syndicaux ont d\u00e9nonc\u00e9 cette strat\u00e9gie publicitaire qui n&#039;a gu\u00e8re contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la situation des travailleurs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Augmenter l\u00e9g\u00e8rement les salaires pour une petite fraction de la population n&#039;est pas un changement. C&#039;est un coup de pub \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Kwanza Brooks, une employ\u00e9e de McDonald&#039;s en Caroline du Nord, lors d&#039;une conf\u00e9rence t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique organis\u00e9e par les organisateurs.<\/p>\n<p>Des manifestations \u00e9taient pr\u00e9vues jeudi devant les restaurants McDonald&#039;s de 24 villes du pays, m\u00eame si le taux de participation a vari\u00e9 par le pass\u00e9. \u00c0 New York, une foule d&#039;environ 30 personnes s&#039;est rassembl\u00e9e devant un McDonald&#039;s en face de l&#039;Empire State Building avant de marcher sur plusieurs p\u00e2t\u00e9s de maisons jusqu&#039;\u00e0 un autre McDonald&#039;s. Les manifestants sont entr\u00e9s dans les locaux en scandant des slogans et en agitant des pancartes sur lesquelles \u00e9taient inscrits des slogans tels que \u00ab McDonald&#039;s : o\u00f9 est mon augmentation ? \u00bb avant d&#039;\u00eatre rapidement \u00e9vacu\u00e9s par la police.<\/p>\n<p>Un client qui \u00e9tait \u00e0 l&#039;int\u00e9rieur du magasin pour acheter son d\u00e9jeuner, Rich Roman, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu&#039;il ne soutenait pas cette initiative et qu&#039;il n&#039;aimait pas les syndicats.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Ils font grimper les prix de tout \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En plus de ses efforts de sensibilisation du public, la campagne Fight for $15, men\u00e9e par le Service Employees International Union, a exerc\u00e9 des pressions sur McDonald&#039;s sur plusieurs fronts juridiques. Cette semaine, le National Labor Relations Board a entam\u00e9 une audience sur des plaintes d\u00e9signant McDonald&#039;s comme co-employeur pour des violations pr\u00e9sum\u00e9es dans des restaurants franchis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Cette affaire devrait \u00eatre une bataille de longue haleine et refl\u00e8te l&#039;un des objectifs principaux des organisateurs : tenir McDonald&#039;s Corp. responsable des pratiques de travail dans ses restaurants franchis\u00e9s. McDonald&#039;s a soulign\u00e9 mercredi sa position selon laquelle elle n&#039;a aucun contr\u00f4le sur les d\u00e9cisions en mati\u00e8re d&#039;emploi dans ces restaurants, en d\u00e9clarant que les franchis\u00e9s \u00ab prennent leurs propres d\u00e9cisions en mati\u00e8re de salaires et d&#039;avantages sociaux \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Dans une interview t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique, le pr\u00e9sident de McDonald&#039;s USA, Mike Andres, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que peu de travailleurs de McDonald&#039;s ont particip\u00e9 aux manifestations et que les actions n&#039;ont pas port\u00e9 pr\u00e9judice \u00e0 l&#039;entreprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Ils ne font pas de victimes \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Au contraire, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9, la d\u00e9cision d&#039;augmenter les salaires et d&#039;accorder des cong\u00e9s pay\u00e9s dans les restaurants appartenant \u00e0 l&#039;entreprise a \u00e9t\u00e9 motiv\u00e9e par le march\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab C&#039;est un environnement tr\u00e8s comp\u00e9titif et l&#039;une des principales raisons de ce plan est que nous voulons \u00eatre l&#039;employeur le plus comp\u00e9titif et le plus attractif \u00bb, a-t-il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 compter du 1er juillet, McDonald&#039;s a annonc\u00e9 que les salaires de d\u00e9part seraient sup\u00e9rieurs d&#039;un dollar au salaire minimum local dans les restaurants appartenant \u00e0 l&#039;entreprise.
