Structure
Class starts Monday April 20, 2026 at 8 a.m.
Class ends Thursday April 23, 2026 at 2 p.m.
This course is designed to educate members in the proper methods of firestopping to ensure life safety in projects they are working on. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Throughout the course, participants will explore firestopping regulations, requirements to understand and in turn teach other members.
This course covers the latest methods and teachings of firestopping.

This course will allow each participant to receive Firestop certifications in Hilti, STI and 3M Firestop products. It will enable them to teach your members Level 1 Firestop training in Hilti, STI and 3M. Each student must attend the 32-hour course and complete the Firestop course study guides, hands-on application, class participation and Firestop exam with a 90% or higher grade.
Travel and Accommodation
- Tuition, room, all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and travel to the class will be paid by the IIIATF.
- Cab or shuttles from the local airport will not be paid for as the Maritime Institute has a free shuttle service from BWI to their facility.
- No wages will be reimbursed for anyone participating.
Room and tax charges will be directly billed to the IIIATF. Participants are responsible for all other room charges. After attending the training, a travel voucher will be emailed to each student using the email used for registration. Under the IIIATF Travel Policy, travel reimbursement will be paid to either the Local or the JATC.
