About the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers (IAHFIAW)

The mission of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers is to represent and support the highly skilled workers in mechanical insulation and related industries. This is done through collective bargaining, unparalleled training, advocacy and community.

Our History

Founded over a century ago, the IAHFIAW has grown into a robust organization with thousands of members across North America. Our rich history is built on a foundation of solidarity, craftsmanship, dedication and continuous improvement. We have always been at the forefront of advocating for worker rights, safety standards and industry advancements.

Our Training Programs

The IAHFIAW is dedicated to ensuring that our members receive the highest level of training and support. We strive to promote the importance of mechanical insulation, firestopping, sound attenuation and thermography. Our commitment is to foster a professional environment where all members can thrive and achieve their career goals.

Under the direction and guidance of the Insulation Industry International Apprentice and Training Fund (IIIATF), local Joint Apprenticeship Training Centers (JATCs) across North America train the best apprentices in the industry and offer journeyman upgrade classes, ensuring our members keep the reputation of the highly trained, most professional Mechanics.
