This course is designed to ensure that all trainers remain compliant with OSHA requirements and continue to provide high-quality, effective safety training in the construction industry. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, which renews their status as an OSHA Outreach Trainer.

Throughout the course, participants will explore updates on OSHA standards and regulations, review recent changes and how they impact construction safety.
Focus:
The course covers the latest updates to OSHA standards and regulations ensuring that trainers are equipped to deliver the most current and effective safety training in the construction industry.

Overview

The OSHA 502 course is designed for HFIAW members responsible for maintaining workplace safety standards. This course is specifically focused on updating the knowledge and skills of those who have completed the OSHA 500 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry. Participants will receive updates on OSHA standards, policies and regulations and learn advanced techniques for conducting safety training. Successful completion of this course allows participants to renew their OSHA Outreach Trainer status.

The classes are scheduled to take place at the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center on Monday, February 1, at 6 p.m. and conclude on Thursday, February 4, at 1 p.m.

You will also see the PDF form that MUST be completed and uploaded when you register. Please attach the front and back of your driver’s license, as well as the front and back of your OSHA card.

Student Presentations

Each participant is REQUIRED to present an OSHA-related topic for 30 MINUTES. Once registration is closed, we will send out a list with topic assignments. Presentations will begin on the first day, so you will not have time to create your presentation at the Marriott. This MUST BE DONE before attending the class. You can use any teaching method that you would like, and we request that if you create anything electronic, such as PowerPoint, you share it with us. We can compile all of them on a memory stick for use in your OSHA 10 and 30-hour classes.

Travel and Accommodation

  • The guest room, which includes breakfast and lunch, and travel to the class, will be paid by the IIIATF.

  • Each student will be provided with per diem for dinner upon registration.

  • We will not reimburse the cost of cab fare, Uber, or Lyft from your home or to your airport, nor the cost of parking at your airport.

  • We will cover the cost of cab fare, Uber, or Lyft from BWI or DCA airports to the College Park Marriott Hotel and Conference Center, and the return trip from class.

  • Exceptions to the travel policy need to be submitted to IIIATF for prior approval

  • No wages will be reimbursed for anyone participating.

    Remember to complete the registration by Friday, December 18, 2026, to secure your spot and ensure your participation.

Room and tax charges will be directly billed to the IIIATF. Participants are responsible for all other room charges. After attending the training, a travel voucher will be emailed to each student using the email used for registration. Under the IIIATF Travel Policy, travel reimbursement will be paid to either the Local or the JATC.
